Remembering the life of JJ Harvilicz and honoring his principles
John Samuel Harvilicz, Jr., known as JJ to his friends and family, was tragically taken from this life at an early age. But in his eight years, JJ touched many lives through the kindness he showed to others.
JJ had three principles in life:
- everyone deserves to have food,
- everyone deserves to have shelter,
- if anyone is in need, he would give them the shirt off his back.
He wanted to help the hungry, the homeless and the less fortunate. JJ was also very much anti-bullying.
His parents, Dawn and John always knew he was an "old soul, but it became quite clear from the notes of sympathy they received from JJ's peers that he truly lived by those principles. His impact on friends and classmates can still be seen today.
JJ was a typical happy go lucky boy who was always very active. He ran laps every morning before school, just because he wanted to. He wrestled, he loved baseball (especially the Orioles) and he loved the Ravens. He was very involved in his church, and in promoting kindness to all.
Your gift to the John Samuel Harvilicz, Jr. “JJ” Memorial Fund will keep JJ’s memory alive, and make sure that people in our community have food, shelter and clothes in his name.
