In October 2017, more than 100 students and school employees from across York County attended the Leadership Summit: Dialogue on Race to learn about what they can each do to make their schools and our community more inclusive. Hosted by the YWCA of York, the event was supported with a grant from the Fund for York County.
The latest YorkCounts Indicators show that students from minority populations now comprise over 25% of our county's population. Investing in our young people to build cultural competence is critical for York to grow and thrive. The grant to the YWCA to establish the Leadership Summit was just one of the more than 30 grants YCCF awarded through the Fund for York County last year
towards education, workforce development and downtown revitalization throughout York County.
